Full disclosure: I received my LOT2545 necklace in exchange for this review; however, all opinions below are my own.
Can a mission get any better than that?
Yes it can, because the jewelry is super cute.
LOT2545's Etsy page explains, "Each piece sold feeds a boy over 20 meals and gives a woman from the slums a fair wage for her work." When I first read that, I knew I was going to fall in love with this company. The jewelry is made using paper beads, seed beads, and fishing line and because they are homemade, each piece is unique in its styling. The bohemian feel is right up my alley in terms of styling, but it was the amount of heart behind this company that really got to me.
When I got my necklace in the mail, the first thing I saw was a hand-signed note from the woman who made my necklace, and the boy my necklace was supporting. Seeing their faces certainly makes the whole experience feel very real and it is so wonderful to know that you are helping to make someone's life a little better. We make purchases every day from food, to clothing, to jewelry. Knowing that a $15 necklace purchase can provide 20 meals and a wage really puts my own consumerism in perspective.
The necklace I received was the Kampala Nights design. Mine is pink and mint green with bronze seed beads. The colors of the beads are so much fun, making it a great choice to pair with my summer clothes!
